MENACE MANUAL: LUKWATA

Conversion of the lukwata to 5e.  This fella circles the rotting mind flayer dropship in The Valley of the Brain Collectors.  Don’t google lukwata like I did looking for a picture of the mob for the Menace Manual.  Seems the name has…  errr… other meanings.

Digest Magic. A magic item swallowed by a lukwata becomes nonmagical after an hour.

Dispelling Bite. When a lukwata scores a hit with its bite, the victim is affected by a dispel magic affect – any spell of 3rd level or lower on the target ends. For each spell of 4th level or higher on the target make an ability check at +5. The DC equals 10 + the spell’s level. On a successful check the spell ends.

Eldritch Encrustation. Crystalline growths along the lukwata’s digestive tract contain large deposits of magical energy. These nodes are responsible for the magical feedback that surrounds each lukwata, granting it its advantage on saving throws against spells, damage resistance, dispelling bite, and digest magic abilities. Dispel magic cast on a lukwata can negate these powers for 1 minute the DC is 15.

Hold Breath. The lukwata can hold its breath for 15 minutes.

ACTIONS
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 10 ft., one creature.
Hit: 28 (6d8 + 10) piercing damage, and the target is grappled (escape DC 17). Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained, and the lukwata can’t bite another target.

DESCRIPTION
A long, spiny fin runs down the length of the dolphinlike body of this eel-headed predator.
