Wereshark

My PCs recently derailed a whole bunch of my planning through creative play – which is fine, the surprises make the game more entertaining for me this way – they ended up in the Slumbering Ursine Dunes and here are converted monsters for my own reference with abbreviated 5e stat blocks.

Old salts tell of the subtle signs of the human-formed wereshark: a slight greyness of skin, a
deadened, hard cast to the eye, a hint of razor among the teeth, a tendency to take positions
in the banking guilds.

Shapechanger. The wereshark can use its action to polymorph into a Large shark-humanoid hybrid or into a Large hunter shark, or back into its true form, which is humanoid. Its statistics are the same in each form. Any equipment it is wearing or carrying isn’t transformed. It reverts to its true form if it dies.

Blood Frenzy. The wereshark has advantage on melee attack rolls against any creature that doesn’t have all its hit points.

Water Breathing. The wereshark can breathe only underwater.

ACTIONS
Roll randomly each round:
  1. Multiattack. In shark form, the wereshark makes two bite attacks. In humanoid form, it makes two greataxe attacks. In hybrid form, it can attack like a shark or a humanoid.
  2. Bite (Shark or Hybrid Form Only). Melee Weapon Attack:+7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 2d10 piercing damage. If the target is a humanoid, it must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution saving throw or be cursed with wereshark lycanthropy.
  3. Greataxe (Humanoid or Hybrid Form Only). Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 1d12 slashing damage.

WERESHARK, LESSER (REMORA)

Lesser weresharks are Small in size, have 24 hps and gain no bonus to their damage rolls and cannot infect others with lycanthropy.  They are otherwise identical to a standard wereshark.
