Choice, Destiny and Time

I think what is happening is human ideas of time are creeping into the argument. Humans live life in a linear fashion. This moment I am writing this sentence, the moment before I was thinking about what I was going to write. One moment comes, goes and ends up in the past. That is time. Now, many people imply when they argue (or take for granted) that not only is life that way, but so are all things. The pattern of past, present and future we must all obey. People assume that the whole universe including God, live in this fashion.

But, it is not inconceivable nor impossible that there are things "outside" of time, one of these things, I believe, is God. Now, he does not know the future, he lives it, for God, past and future are present for him. He has no future or past in a sense, only a "now". So, in fact, he has all of eternity to answer prays and tend to peoples lives.

AN example (it gives a fairly good idea). I am writing a book, I write "Goldilocks just finished her porridge when she heard a knock at the door". In the imaginary world of Goldilocks, finishing the porridge is directly before the knock at the door, there is no time lapse - but, lets say after I wrote "Goldilocks just finished her porridge" and then went out for the day and finished the sentence that night. Well, the hours I spent out thinking about goldilocks would not appear in her time. For Goldilocks, one moment follows the next, she has no concept of the writer or his day out.

God is not hurried along by our time, just like an author isn't hurried on by the world he writes about. He has infinite time for everyone. You are as much alone with him as if u were the only being created.

God is outside time. His life does not drip buy moment by moment, it is both 1994 for him as much as it is 2094. For His life is Himself.

Another illustration. Time for man is a line on a page. You must experience life at point A before travelling to point B, and point B before point C and so on. God would then be the page that the line is drawn on. God, from above, below, left, right and all round, contains the whole line, and sees all.
