Description:
It is the period some time after World War I. Many aviators with nothing to do have turned to air piracy. A 'hero' emerges: The Crimson Pig called Porco Rosso (his name is actually Marco). He fights against the air pirates and saves a lot of ships, though it's for the reward money. After losing in a dogfight, he rebuilds his plane for another round and meets a feisty girl who is an aspiring plane designer. This movie mixes Hayao Miyazaki's love of aviation and talent for adventure stories.

Porco Rossa	(Giovana) Voice:
	Our hero in this anime. He is a bounty hunter preying on those "airborne" pirates. He is such a skilled pilot and successful hunter that all pirates will avoid his red plane at any cost. The real name of Porco is Marco Bakerton, and he used to be the ace pilot of the Royal Italia Air Force. The experience of the war made him dislike any war, and since Europe looks set to slip into another war, he decided to resign. He later reappeared with a new face -- a pig-like face and adopted the name: Porco Rosso (Red Pig, 1920's slang for "Bounty Hunter"). Since then, he has lived a life of a bounty hunter.
Gina	Voice:
	Yes, her name is Gina, a singer at Adinia Hotel. Gina is famous for her soothing voice. Everyone who comes to listen to her song finds melancholy and harmony in her. Even the pirates and Porco, who are dead rivals in the sky, patronise the same bar. Her youth was full of broken love. She fell in love with three pilots, one after another, but they all died flying their planes just before their planned marriage to Gina. Porco knows the three pilots as they were his comrades-in-arms and friends too. Now only Gina and him are left.
Fio	Voice:
	Very different from Gina she is a teenage girl. Porco seems to like Fio, and always let Fio repair his beloved aircraft. From time to time, Porco would teach Fio something about piloting too. As a youngster, Fio has the characteristic rashness and eagerness.
Curtis	Voice:
	An american fly boy, wannabe movie star. He has come to the Adriatic to make himself famous (and rich) which he believes will help his acting career. He also wants to be the President (Is it Ronald Reagan?).
Manmaiutto Gang	Voice: --
	A rag-tag band of air pirates. Lead by Bluto whos catch phrase seems to be "Shut Up!".
Pergo	(Fio's Grandfather) Voice:
	The owner of a airplane garage. He designs, builds and repairs planes. Also an old freind of Porco. Quite protective of his youg grand-daughter.
