Canak is a death planet rich in plant life, particularly of the very vicious, carnivorous kind. Several Imperial teams of genetors have ventured onto the planet surface and charted some quite remarkable species of plant. Unfortunately, since most of these plants are very new to the Imperium, some scientists lost their lives as a result of their investigations.

Not only is Canak rich in plant life, it is also rich in animal life. Most of these animals are vegetarian and quite harmless despite their enormous size. However, there are some species that are incredibly vicious and enjoy eating meat. Genetors, that have survived the rigours of the oppressive heat in the jungles of Canak, have reported that the man-eating plants pose more of a threat than the carnivorous Canakosaur in that some of them can actually move and swallow entire parties of men whole.

Massive volcanoes and unpredictable destructive earthquakes ensure that Canak will remain untouched from human settlers for some time.
