YGGRALITH, THE DIVINE SCALED PROXY OF UNITY

The original was a pretty blah ice linnorm – not at all thematic.  I appreciate that they were probably running out of space and were forced to use single line stat entries.  The beauty of being a DM is that you can change things up.  So I created this star dragon based on the Xenoblade creature of the same name.  Even the attacks are inspired by that dragon.  I also converted Yggralith into a proxy of UNITY instead of just a random mook.  I like the juxtaposition of UNITY appearing as an angelic being but her proxy being a dragon – traditionally associated with evil.

Proxy of Unity. Until UNITY herself is destroyed Yggralith the Divine Scaled cannot permanently die. She reappears in the digital domain of UNITY at the next dawn.

Empowered Attacks. Yggralith the Divine Scaled’s attacks are treated as magical for the purpose of bypassing resistance and immunity to nonmagical weapons.

Freedom of Movement Yggralith the Divine Scaled is under the constant effect of freedom of movement, as per the spell of the same name. This effect cannot be dispelled.

Legendary Resistance (3/Day). If Yggralith the Divine Scaled fails a saving throw, she can choose to succeed instead.

Magic Resistance. Yggralith the Divine Scaled has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

Regeneration. Yggralith the Divine Scaled regains 10 hit points at the start of her turn. If Agnes the Divine Scaled takes cold iron weapon damage, this trait doesn’t function at the start of the Agnes the Divine Scaled’s next turn. The troll Agnes the Divine Scaled only if it starts its turn with 0 hit points and doesn’t regenerate.

ACTIONS
Multiattack. Yggralith the Divine Scaled can use its Clinging Cold and Stomp when available. She then makes four attacks: one with her bite and two with her claws and one with her tail.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +15 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target.
Hit: 19 (2d10 +8) piercing damage plus 10 (3d6) poison damage.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +15 to hit, reach 10ft., one target.
Hit: 22 (4d6 +8) slashing damage.

Tail. Melee Weapon Attack: +15 to hit, reach 20 ft., one target.
Hit: 17 (2d8 + 8) bludgeoning damage and the target is grappled (escape DC 19). Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained; Yggralith the Divine Scaled can’t constrict another target. At the start of Agnes the Divine Scaled turn the grappled creature automatically suffers a constrict attack

Constrict. The grappled creature takes 30 (3d6+21) bludgeoning damage at the start of Yggralith the Divine Scaled’s turn.

Star-Eater’s Cold (Recharge 5-6). Yggralith the Divine Scaled exhales a viscous icy blast in a 90-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 22 Constitution saving throw, taking 72 (16d8) cold damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. In addition as the freezing ooze clings to those struck the ooze hardens into thick sheets of ice. Creatures that were damaged by the attack are frozen motionless unless they can break free with a DC 19 escape check. Each round a creature remains frozen it takes 3 (1d6) points of cold damage. Another creature can free a frozen target by tearing away the ice (this takes 1 round) or dealing at least 20 points of fire damage to the frozen target. Left unattended, the ice crumbles away in 1 minute on its own.

Stomp (Recharge 1-4). Yggralith the Divine Scaled leaps into the air and strikes the ground with its massive bulk, triggering an earth tremor. All other creatures on the ground within 60 feet of Yggralith the Divine Scaled must succeed on a DC 25 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.

REACTIONS
Death Curse. As a reaction, when a creature slays Yggralith the Divine Scaled, the slayer is affected by the curse of frost gaining vulnerability to cold damage on a failed DC 19 Charisma save.

DESCRIPTION
Black scales glowing blue eyes this snake-like, dragon-headed, six-legged monster of tremendous size rises up, emitting a frigid aura.
