githyanki astraan

In the process of converting Scales of War.  I’ll be starting my campaign from Garaitha’s Anvil – the 12th adventure in the series – skipping most of the build-up adventures as I have characters who are coming of Tomb of Annihilation and are level 14.

Ω Edit: Decision by my group to do a gothic horror campaign so will not be using these creatures… yet (I’m sure I’ll find a use for these guys).  Other conversions will be incoming pending the kickoff of my Bloodborne/Steam Punk inspired campaign later this year.

Innate Spellcasting (Psionics). The githyanki astraan’s innate spellcasting ability is Intelligence (spell save DC 15, +7 to hit with spell attacks). It can innately cast the following spells, requiring no components:
At will: mage hand (the hand is invisible)
3/day each: jumpmisty stepnondetection (self only)
1/day each: plane shifttelekinesis

Spellcasting (Psionic). The githyanki astraan is the 8th-level spellcaster. Its spellcasting ability is Intelligence (spell save DC 15, +7 to hit with spell attacks). The githyanki has the following wizard spells prepared:
Cantrips (at will): blade wardlightmessagetrue strike
1st level (4 slots): expeditious retreatmagic missilesleepthunderwave
2nd level (3 slots): blurinvisibilitylevitate
3rd level (3 slots): counterspellfireballhaste
4th level (2 slots): dimension door

Psychic Warrior. When the githyanki astraan uses its action to manifest a psionic power (cast a spell), it can make one weapon attack as a bonus action.

ACTIONS
Multiattack. The githyanki astraan makes two attacks from the options listed below.

Silver Dagger. Melee or Ranged Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft. or range 20/60 ft., one target.
Hit: 4 (1d4 + 2) piercing damage, plus 18 (4d8) psychic damage and the target is stunned until the end of their next turn unless they succeed at a DC 14 Constitution saving throw.

Telekinetic Strike. Ranged Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, range 40/80 ft., one target.
Hit:8 (2d4 + 3) force damage, plus 18 (4d8) psychic damage and the target is pushed 5 feet unless they succeed at a DC 15 Strength saving throw.

Astral Fire (1/Turn). The githyanki astraan chooses a point on the ground that he can see within 100 feet of him. Each creature in a 20-foot-radius sphere centred on that point must make a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw. A target takes 14 (4d6) fire damage and 14 (4d6) cold damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. The area becomes difficult terrain and persists for 1 minute or until the githyanki astraan uses this action again.

Telekinetic Blast (Recharge 4-6). The githyanki astraan chooses a point on the ground that he can see within 100 feet of him. A cylinder of telekinetic energy 20 feet tall and with a 10-foot radius rises from that point and wrenches creatures in the area from the ground and hurls them up to 20 feet into the air. A target that strikes a ceiling or other solid object takes 14 (4d6) bludgeoning damage. The target then falls back to the ground into an unoccupied space within 5 feet of its original space (the astraan’s choice), taking falling damage as normal – 7 (2d6) bludgeoning damage – and the target falls prone unless they pass a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw.

REACTIONS
Astral Ward (1/Day). The githyanki astraan makes a silver dagger attack against the triggering attacker and gains a +2 bonus to AC and saving throws until the end of its next turn.
