KILLING THE BIG ROOSTER

I am currently running an Oriental Adventures (OA) campaign called The Divine Heir and the Jade Regent loosely based around the Pathfinder Adventure Path the Jade Regent with strong influences from Sekiro.  The first adventure is called The Ashina Legacy and is essentially the The Brinewall Legacy set in and completely converted to an OA setting.

I had to rewrite the adventure intro and re-theme the monsters but it worked well.  Here is the flowchart of the adventure (and campaign).

I used these giant cocks as the equivalent of guard dogs for the bakemono fort and Ashina Castle. Inspired bye Sekiro’s giant roosters. They replaced any “guard” animal in both adventures. The shaman (druid) in the party uses this animal form extensively 🙂

Drift. A guard rooster flies in short bursts and can’t use its fly speed to hover. When it flies, a it must end its move action by landing or perching on a solid surface.

Unpredictable. The guard rooster moves in unpredictable ways – people are not use to fighting giant chickens – and has advantage on initiative rolls.

Steel Spurs. Melee Weapon Attack:+3 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature.

Call. When the giant guard rooster sees a non-familiar creature it crows loudly alerting all allies within 120 feet of it.
