Dante the Will-O-Wisp

Dante is a devotee of Thanatos and Orcus.  In his mind they are the same being.  Whenever Dante makes an attack that does psychic damage the target hears a heavy metal power chord plays (intro, set). If Dante successfully uses consume life the target is sent straight to Orcus’s realm in the abyss and rises as an undead appropriate to its level. If the target succeeds at a DC 15 Charisma or Wisdom saving throw they retain their memories.  He will join a battle to kill a PC if he is able, and will use consume life whenever possible.

Consume Life. As a bonus action, Dante can target one creature he can see within 10 feet of him that has 0 hit points and is still alive. The target must succeed on a DC 19 Constitution saving throw against this magic or die. If the target dies, the will-o’-wisp regains 3d6 hit points.

Ephemeral. Dante can’t wear or carry anything.

Incorporeal Movement. Dante can move through other creatures and objects as if they were difficult terrain. It takes 5 (1d10) force damage if it ends its turn inside an object.

Regeneration. Dante regains 10 hit points at the start of his turn. If he takes fire or radiant damage, this trait doesn’t function at the start of his next turn. His body is destroyed only if it starts its turn with 0 hit points and doesn’t regenerate.

Turn Immunity. Dante is immune to effects that turn undead.

Variable Illumination. Dante sheds bright light in a 5- to 20-foot radius and dim light for an additional number of feet equal to the chosen radius. He can alter the radius as a bonus action.

Spellcasting. Dante is a 16th-level spellcaster. His spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 15). Dante has the following paladin spells prepared and may apply his smites to his shock attack:

Actions

Multiattack. Dante makes two shock attacks or casts a spell, and then uses invisibility.

Shock. Melee Spell Attack: +7 to hit, reach 10 ft., one creature. Hit: 2d8+4 psychic damage. This attack appears as purple lightning.

Invisibility. Dante and its light magically become invisible until it attacks or uses its Consume Life, or until its concentration ends (as if concentrating on a spell).
