Ring of Forcefangs

5e version of Paizo’s ring.  One of the treasures from Iron Gods that I needed to convert because my player wanted a 5e reference without me translating it for her on the fly each time.

RING OF FORCEFANGS

Ring, uncommon

Appearing as a glowing band of blue~white energy the wearer of this ring gains resistance to force damage.  In addition if an attack targeting the wearer was a force spell it converts the incoming spell into charges per spell level of the attack (maximum of 9).   It flares with energy each time it absorbs a spell level and the intensity of the band increases relative to the number of charges stored.  If an incoming force attack would charge the ring beyond this limit, the ring does not negate the attack or gain charges, and the attack affects the wearer normally.

On command, the wearer can use the ring’s charges to cast magic missile, using the number of charges expended as the equivalent spell level of the spell.  For example expending one charge is equivalent to casting a level 1 version of the spell, consuming 9 charges unleashes a level 9 version of the spell.
