I converted for my home campaign as I am running the pf1e Adventure Path – Reign of Winter.

Blood Drain (necromancy) A Moon Beast can drain blood from a grabbed creature. Each time it does, the creature must succeed at a DC 30 Fortitude save or become drained 1 (drained 2 on a critical failure).

Horrific Visage (aura, emotion, fear, mental) 30 feet. Creatures within the aura that see the Moon Beast must attempt a DC 30 Will save. On a failure, they are frightened 1 (frightened 2 on a critical failure).

Constrict 2d10+12 bludgeoning (23), DC 30

Swallow Whole (attack, DC 30, 3d10+12 bludgeoning (28), Medium or smaller)

Mental Intrusion (occult, attack) The Moon Beast can make an attack against a creature’s mind. It rolls an Occultism check against the target’s Will DC. On a success, the target takes 4d8+10 mental damage (28) and is stupefied 1 (stupefied 2 on a critical success). This is a mental attack.

Dominate Monster (enchantment, mental), 3/day The Moon Beast can cast a heightened version of dominate (7th level) as a 2-action activity. The target must succeed at a DC 30 Will save or be dominated by the Moon Beast for up to 1 hour. On a critical failure, the domination lasts for 24 hours. This is a mental attack.

Mass Demoralize (emotion, fear, mental) 2 actions
The Moon Beast can attempt to Demoralize all creatures within the range of its telepathy (100 feet) as a 2-action activity. Roll a single Intimidation check and compare it to the Will DC of each target. On a success, each affected creature is frightened 1 (frightened 2 on a critical success).

Telepathy 100 feet The Moon Beast can mentally communicate with any creature within 100 feet that understands a language.

Feats & Spells

  • Intimidating Prowess: Add Strength modifier to Intimidation checks.
  • Grab: The Moon Beast can attempt to grab its target after a successful tentacle attack.
  • Darkness (at will): Create a 20-foot radius of darkness, canceling natural light.
  • Dominate Monster (3/day): Control a creature for up to 1 hour (or 24 hours on a critical failure) as a 7th-level spell.
